Jim Serpico is President of Motion Pictures and Television at Apostle. He serves as Executive Producer on FX’s SEX&DRUGS&ROCK&ROLL. The series stars Denis Leary, John Corbett, and Elizabeth Gillies. The second season debuts summer of 2016.
Serpico recently produced the acclaimed comedy series MARON on IFC. He also co-created and directed the original comedy series BENDERS for IFC. The series explored the camaraderie, bonding and hi-jinks of a group of twenty-something men on and off the ice.
Serpico served as Executive Producer of Rescue Me, the critically acclaimed one-hour drama airing on FX. Serpico, along with Executive Producers Denis Leary and Peter Tolan, was recognized by the Producer’s Guild of America when Rescue Me was honored with the 2005 Visionary Award, which acknowledges producers whose work demonstrates a unique or uplifting quality.
A native New Yorker, Serpico co-founded the production company Apostle in 1994 with producing partner Denis Leary. Before segueing into television, the company produced the feature film Blow for New Line Cinema, as well as several Sundance Film Festival entries including Monument Ave., directed by Ted Demme. Serpico also executive produced the documentary BURN which won the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival Audience Award.
